Chinese Herbs To Induce Vomiting
Most of the Chinese herbs to induce vomiting are very strong, which is why they can induce vomiting. Among them is the herb called black false hellebore, which is often used to induce vomiting of sputum and undigested foods, particularly in patients of epilepsy, apoplexy, thyroiditis and lymphadenitis, in order to remove substances that may block the throat and obstruct breathing. Normally herbs in this class are available in powdered form.
If a patient fails to vomit within 10 to 20 minutes, he or she should use a finger to penetrate the throat to induce vomiting. If a patient continues to vomit without stop, some ginger juice, cold rice soup, or cold water can be administered to stop the vomiting.
After vomiting, the patient should have some soup or semi-liquid food and avoid greasy food and other food difficult to digest.
This class of herbs should not be consumed by patients with swallowing difficulty, asthma, a cough, pulmonary tuberculosis, aneurysm, arteriosclerosis, hypertension, or heart disease. Young and old patients, pregnant women and weak patients should also avoid it.
