This herb is used in formulas to treat burning and fetid diarrhea with jaundice, fever, urinary-tract
infections, sores on the mouth and gums, hot flashes, spontaneous sweating, leukorrhea, abscesses, boils, and eczema (TCM: deficiency fire; damp heat in Lower Burner).

Phellodendron's antiseptic qualities make it useful as an anti-inflammatory treatment for most inflammatory conditions in body, from pelvic inflammatory disease to skin and mouth lesions.
