Common Usages

This herb is used in formulas to treat inflammation of knees with spasms of hands and feet; gurgling intestines with bloating; edema of lower half of body with swollen legs and feet; arthritis and rheumatism; and high blood pressure (TCM: external damp-heat conditions). Also used as a diuretic.

Promotes urination and reduces edema; expels wind dampness and alleviates pain.
